Four Guys and a Trip

What happens when four buds head to Scotland to celebrate turning fifty? Well, golf for sure. But what else may happen is anyone's guess. Stay tuned for updates on our adventures, mishaps and perhaps even a double eagle or two as we four swing our way from Muirfield to St. Andrews with a few stops in between.

We leave September 30th from Kansas City to Edinburgh with a connection in that most splendid American city of Newark, NJ. We only have a short layover in Newark so there won't be time for a proper tour of all that that city no doubt has to offer. Once we're safely in Scotland we'll pick up our rental van and head east towards the Firth of Forth. We'll meander through Musselburgh (home of professional golfer Vikki Liang), past Cockenzie, Longniddry and Gullane on our way to North Berwick and our first round of Jet Lag Golf at Kilspindie GC on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday a round at the North Berwick West Course awaits us. Situated right on the Firth the view promises to be spectacular. We're up the next day for a round at The Renaissance Golf Club (thanks to Steve Eginoire) in nearby Gullane. On Tuesday it's time for 36 holes at Muirfield, Home of the Honourable Company of Golfers. We'll try our best not to put into question their use of the word 'Honorable'. Wednesday we're up early for a change of locale as we traverse north across the Firth of Forth and our stay in St. Andrews. On Wednesday we have an afternoon round at the Holy Grail of golf, St. Andrews. The anticipation for this day is palpable. Next up in our rota is day at the Jubilee course in St. Andrews. This too should be a memorable experience. Friday finds us teeing it for the final time in Scotland as we head over to Craigshead. After a final night in St. Andrews and perhaps a pint or two and maybe even a bit of Scotch we'll head home on Saturday to the awaiting arms of our loved ones.

Check back as we get closer for updates-I'm sure you'll be on the edge of your Lazy-boy waiting!
