Day one in the books

Two great flights without any hitches and we're in North Berwick.

First round of golf is in the books. We played a bit of 'jet lag' golf at Kilspindie. Very nice track along the Firth of Forth. A little breezy but nothing compared to what it probably could be. Links golf takes a bit of getting used to. Ball sure rolls a lot further here than it does in KC. Have to play the ball a bit short and let it roll onto the green. You hit the green with your approach and you're likely fishing your ball out if the water.

Tony was the medalist today with a 78. Way to go LP.

After golf we did a bit of shopping for our house. We rented a house in North Berwick. Sleeps 7 so we have lots of room to stretch out.

Tonight we head to Nether Abby for dinner. Tomorrow we head to N Berwick Golf Club for round 2.

  1. There's a North Berwick (and a Berwick, and a South Berwick) not far from where I live... Just down the road a piece in Maine. Most people pronounce the name Berwick "Burr-wick," but some old-timers say "Bear-wick." How is it pronounced in Scotland?
